It has been foretold that man shall once more descend into darkness.
The light shall pour over the Earth and we shall become blind.
Or perhaps there will be no light at all, and we shall lose the need to see altogether.
Nonetheless, man shall once more, and perhaps innumerable times more, descend into darkness.
Our light will become so bright as to wash away the Heavens.
Stuck here on this Earth with no stars to guide us.
Lead by our own, artificial light. So bright as to wash away our intellect.
Stuck within our minds with no gods to guide us.
God shall then be dead, his crimson blood dripping down the crucifix of modern day ‘progress’.
What can resurrect such a God?
Shall we burn the cross?
Shall we give him our blood?
Shall we join him?
How shall we breathe life into him as he did to us?
Must we shout from the rooftops?
Must we kill our fellow man?
Must we beget sacrifice with sacrifice?
Oh lowly men, you wicked ones!
Was it you who threw the first stones?
No.
It was the healthy and rich who threw the first.
Who had it so good they had forgotten how to live.
And as they continuously dug for buried treasure, their stones and dirt flung upon him.
Love muted by pleasure.
Death favored over life.
Vanity over health.
I say then unto you once more: What will you do when our sight is stripped?
When the Light has been vanished from this Earth?
When man has descended into darkness?
I say unto you: Set fire to your very heart!
For in that, your will to live shall shine brighter than life itself.
And once more—through your final breath—the All, the Every, the None, the Nothing, God, shall scream out into this infinitely dark night of the soul:
“Let there be light!”
